Shakespeare often overcharged for his sonnets, especially when he left the metre running.

That's right Moe, and as true today as ever it was.

I can remember when writers received no income from libraries, but I believe they now do, although I expect it will be minimal.

W-e-l-l.....not so easy, if writing is someone's strongest talent.

Now, if you mean an additional occupation, to fund their talent and love for writing, then I'd certainly agree with that.

Everybody needs to have an income, even those of us expressing our words here, for free....!

And retirement pensions, and/or any extra capital which has not been earned. That's when the feeling of 'have to make the best of the time, while we can' really starts to kick in!

How about budgeting to spend no more than 10% of current saved capital, and saving at least 10% of other income, after tax - ?

OK! Well, of course, Moe, I've already said I am indeed voting - which will be later today.

I have voted both Conservative and Labour in the last 20 years.

The problem I have is that I rarely do anything without a certain strength of feeling and conviction in support of my own actions..... but, in this instance, it is tricky......

I understand. There are those in the US who complain about the state of affairs but then never vote to change anything.

Hmmmm, that attitude is not only confined to politics, or the US!

It has very much to do with a 'somebody should do something about it' mentality....

All the opinion polls had indicated that support for Labour and the Conservatives was running so close that neither party would receive an overall majority.
