You have nothing to worry about, amigo. My cousin L'il Jinxie works for renowned attorney Johnny Cockroach. He can have your sentence reduced to 40 years minus time served if you're one of the first 10 callers on Thursday morning.

It's also likely that I quoted a post in error in #2852. That's what happens when the price of crack cocaine is so low that even I can afford it.

Better not use it, but stockpile it for when the price goes up again.

I dunno. Crack is so available in DC, some folks serve it up with Sunday dinner. I'm probably going to get a good price there unless he can sell it to a congressman. And from their behavior if late, they need [[more) drugs like I need a hole in my head.

No, I didn't think you were.

Spending a lot of your money simply to see a property named Jerry Oz 144mansion wouldn't really do anything for you. There would be no interest on the investment, and the property would never be yours.

I think you're right. Did you notice that he said he'll get any kind of drink we NEED? I may want one, but I think there was a subtle cry for help in that post and our buddy is taking the first step toward recovery: Recognizing that he has a problem.

    Or maybe not...

While Arr&bee likes it to be known that he enjoys a drink, those of us who pretend we don't drink may have a greater problem...

There are hard lessons in life to be learned. Tell 'em to trust you so that they can learn that everybody can't be trusted. That's worth more than a fair paycheck for honest work, right? As a matter of fact, I'll do it for you if you want to pay me in advance. You know that you can trust me.

And it's one that we all eventually learn. The tough part is avoiding the cynical response of becoming deceitful because the rest of the world appears to be that way.

I don't seem to need to go around telling myself I'm better than others, but it seems all too easy to sense that others often appear to have a different perception and different values from myself.

I just need to make sure I'm consistently upholding whatever standards I've set myself. The standards themselves aren't tough, as they have become second-nature. Keeping faith with myself by being consistent is the toughest part, especially at the times when I could willingly chuck it all over the side....!

We're starting to get a lot of hot air from our own politicans, as a run-up to the forthcoming General Election [[Gen. Election seems to have strayed over here from the 'Cancel' thread....)

Not being someone who routinely takes a great deal of interest in political affairs, I'm starting to feel I've had enough of it already....

I didn't have a personal interest in that [[at least, not one which I was aware would have a direct influence on me) so let it go on at its own speed. The result was the only sensible option.

Our General Election should see the Conservatives re-elected, if only because the other parties are not strong enough to prevail.

I think we're heading for another coalition, but it's going to be a bit of a lottery. The Tories might lose a handful of seats to UKIP and a larger number to Labour, but it looks like this could be offset by major Labour losses to the SNP. The election result could hinge on which party gains the vulnerable Lib Dem seats.

It is not economically viable for Scotland to be independent, and may never be.

It was just that some Scottish people found the idea of Scotland being an independent country to be an attractive one. Almost like a child, or someone older acting like a child, running away from home, saying "I hate it", but without thinking the whole thing through. Those who pressed for the Referendum might be viewed as acting on an emotional, even fanciful notion, without giving any real practical considerations of Scotland's finances and revenues.

So, the majority of Scottish voters voted for Scotland to stay as it is [[as most of the rest of us in the UK knew they, in real terms, were obliged to do)....but the exercise has led to Scotland being given some concessions, so there was a positive outcome.

The result of the Referendum was one borne of common sense and so, yes, it was the only sensible option, based on circumstances at the present time.

Never underestimate old hatred between people fixated on historical disputes. When the French left Rwanda, centuries old hatred between the Hutus and the Tutsis resulted in attempted genocide by both parties. And after decades of dealing with Tito's iron rule, the Serbs, Croats, and Bosnians remembered what mattered the most to them - centuries old feuds.

Sometimes, enough people can find enough 'reason' to hurt themselves in the process of hurting someone else. Emotion of the angry few often works against the common good.

    Hutus, Tutsis, Serbs, Croats......

You've really wobbling off-point there, Jerry, when the point you made referred to 'Scotland'....LOL

There isn't time for me to become involved in deep debate, but you could try googling 'Scotland should not, and will not survive alone' - an article in UK newspaper 'The Telegraph', which might illustrate for you in greater detail what I have already stated.

I'm not wasting a Google search on that. I was trying [[unsuccessfully) to make a point that nationalistic forces transcend generations and are seldom reasonable. I'm sure their were thousands of would-be William Wallaces who voted for independence.

In a generation, the largest mammals will be found in the drive-thru lanes of McDonald's.
