    Pharrell is at it again

Happy Pharrell oscar nominated song sounds real close to Cupid Shuffle from 2007. What do you all think?

Oh please, gimme a break! Really!!?? The only thing similar about those two songs is that they are both upbeat dance songs! The drum beats are different, the bass lines are different, the chord changes are different, they're in different keys, the lyrics and melodies are completely different, there are absolutely no samples used from the aforementioned song, and all of this, I repeat, ALL OF THIS is true in regards to "Blurred Lines" and "Got To Give It Up". Stevie Wonder even said his advice to the Gaye family would be to leave it alone because since they are two different songs the only ones that would benefit from any litigation would be the lawyers.

Copyright law states that an infringement is committed when a song is identical to a previously written song for more that eight consistent measures. Of course "Blurred Lines" was inspired by Marvin's masterpiece, but according to the law, there is no copyright infringement. With "Happy" being far more different that "Cupid Shuffle", to say that Pharrell is at it again is simply ridiculous. Pharrell is one of the dopest producers in the game, and everybody should leave him alone and let him do what he do!

So, like my girl Erykah Badu said "Y'all share that!"

When I first heard Happy, it did remind me of Cupid Shuffle in some parts. But I like the Happy song and the video. The song makes me smile.

The two songs bear no similarities whatsoever.

The more I listen to the song, his tenor and phrasings bring to mind Curtis Mayfield. This brother is a very, very talented young man who "gets it."

Nysister, I know you're right. My dear late, great Uncle John even liked Pharrell's music and he was big into Curtis Mayfield , the Impressions and others from the "Golden Era". Pharrell definitely "gets it"!

Pharrell is one of the best out there today. I hope he works with Nile Rodgers more!
