This is what I signed on for when I moved back to Michigan, Doug. I wasn't counting on a winter this brutal, but I'm dealing with it. I love the lakes area and I love my new neighborhood. [ATTACH]7891
Same neighborhood in the summer...
Cool pics, Ralph.
Oops. I meant, cold pics, Ralph.
Its cold Jerry. No doubt about it.
Looks like parts of BC. Nice pictures. Seems like a bad winter out East.
We were down to -8 in central Ohio when I left work yesterday. Wind chills were around -40. It was as cold as the reception Mary Wilson received when she sang at Diana Ross' family reunion.
Great photos, Ralph. YUP, it's nippy alright with frigid temps, storm after storm and ice - which I hate. We can deal with snow easily, but ice is a different matter altogether. You in Michigan are like we New Englanders. We can deal with it.
~~Mary~~
I was thinking "cold as my ex-wife's heart", but I won't say that out loud.
Weather's funny. Ski resorts up here in the other Washington are screaming for snow. Most are still calling it "early season conditions", and at least one BIG resort hasn't opened yet. On the other hand, I have a friend near Fayetville, Arkansas who has 4 foot icicles hanging from his porch and refers to the state as "Artic-saw".
It's brutal in the Mid-South [[Little Rock, Memphis area) when real winter hits because they aren't prepared for it. An ice storm struck when I moved down there in 1994 and shut the entire Memphis area down for three days. It took up to a week for some parts of the city to get their power back.
