"Nightflight" Tue Oct 29, 9P-12M ET: The BIRTHDAY SHOW!!

Howdy, Nightflight listeners!! Once a year...and thank God it only happens once a year....I have a birthday.... and a birthday show! That will be the only reference to it being "my" birthday...I'd rather not remind myself of it.

So tonight's show will be taking a detour from the Complete Motown Singles collection...a sort of palate cleansing. But that doesn't mean at all that there will be no Motown...of course there will. But along with Motown, there will be extended versions and many great tracks that I don't play as much as I would like.

So...do join me tonight for all that and more...on the Birthday show...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org

Thank you all so very much!! And Happy Birthday to YOU
    John

I know how you feel Midnight, I just celebrated a bday on Saturday! For a low key person like myself, bdays can be a bit much.. I will try and tune in as much as possible tonight, but the NBA season starts tonight!! Heat vs Bulls! Should be a great game.

    Happy Birthday John!

Look forward to spending the evening celebrating with you and the gang and those extended mixes you do so well. May the year ahead bring you more unreleased vaulted goodies from Brenda Holloway and Kim Weston than you know what to do with!

    See you at nine!

Happy B-day John. Maybe time to pull Brenda doing Baby A Go Go out. If that happens to be one of your favorite Brenda tracks.

Happy Birthday my dear friend! Here's to another 75! Don't be concerned about your age, it means nothing. Besides you'll always be older than me. See you and the gang on the Radiola.

NickOf Time lyric is based on Bonnie finding love in her forties and later marrying actor Michael O'Keefe, who's best known as Danny from the movie Caddyshack

John, music hardly comes better than the Smokey Robinson & The Miracles you just played. However, August Darnell and all his musical incarnations from Dr. Buzzard and all the offshoots of that iconic group are something else. I understand that they were poised to become HUGE, but the band loved to get "loose" a little too much!

Aww, I was all amped up thinking it would be Otto Titsling since you said we were saving the naughty stuff for hour three.... but Shiver Me Timbers is a fine substitute....

John, don't tell me you've never seen the film Beaches! Otto Titsling is the big production number when Bette aka C.C. Bloom gets her first Broadway show. It previously was part of her stand up act and is on her Mud Will Be Flung Tonight LP.

Mary and Cindy weren't on You Gave Me Love because they had to save their voices and lung capacity for singing the chorus of Let The Sunshine In for three hours straight at the then upcoming Farewell show!
