96 Tears - Jimmy Ruffin
Hated "Disco" until I heard this a couple of years ago. Masterpiece by the Sigma crew!

Agree about "Seek And You Shall Find", absolute belter and my all time favourite.
Also "Chained" and "Ain't That Peculiar".
These days his later "social and political" style seems to be more in...
I'll Pick A Rose For My Rose - Marv Johnson [[piano intro)
Particularly on [[Ace Records) CD the clarity of this recording is amazing. One of my favourite Motown recordings of all time.
Cannot...
Sad news and taken quite young at just 72.
Always loved "Always And Forever", very emotional song.
Saw them live, Southport UK, early 80's. They were fantastic, better than I expected.
Junior Walker & The All Stars - Come See About Me

Thought I'd read that but stand corrected. Many thanks.
Wasn't this the first album to give credits to the musicians?
I bought the album in the late 70's and the CD last year. Always loved this album.
Pearl - Stevie Wonder
Great News. Always yearned for "Pocketful..." on CD. Great price £14.99 and my being in UK, no extortionate postage /tax/duty to make it unaffordable.
My favourite track, which doesn't seem to have been mentioned, is "You Move Me", for me the vocals and instrumentation are superb.
I have the vinyl but would also like on CD but it is a crazy...
Smooth Sailing From Now On - The Temptations / Too Busy Thinking About My Baby - The Monitors [[unreleased)
Doesn't Soul Music generally reflect this trend?
Junior Walker And The All Stars, early 70's can't remember exactly when, The Hardrock Manchester. Absolutely fantastic. 2 drummers, one of which Junior's son.
Sadly only Motown act I ever saw.
Always liked this song and particularly liked the unusual bass line. Didn't know it was a LA recording. Anyone know who the bass player was or likely to be?
The label states it was produced by Charles Chalmers which I would assume puts it with Hi / Royal Studios. I've listened to it on Youtube and it does seem to have the Royal Studios sound signature.
...
Recently came across this on Youtube. Recorded in Memphis [[Royal Studios?), produced by Charles Chalmers.
Did Revilot record any other tracks in Memphis? Does anyone know any history behind this...
The muted, echoey, bits of track between tracks on The Four Tops "Nature Planned It" album. Always wondered why they did this. Don't think it adds anything worthwhile.
The classical style intro to The Isley's "Behind A Painted Smile" and also the solo drum roll at the end.
Never liked "Thriller" [[although always been in awe of the songwriter, Rod Temperton's Heatwave output).
I always discounted J5 except "I Want You Back", but recently discovered many great album...
I'm afraid, apart from Just Seven Numbers, this album just doesn't do it for me. On the other hand their later Nature Planned It album, I absolutely love.
Thanks for that, I did do a quick search beforehand but, as it only brought up totally unrelated posts on the first page, I assumed that the topic hadn't been discussed [[just re-checked the search...
I always discounted these CD's as I have nearly all the tracks elsewhere on studio albums and compilations but came across an alternative version on Youtube of The Temptations' "I Wish It Would Rain"...
Whilst strictly not a gospel song, David Ruffin's "World Of Darkness" from his My Whole World Ended album has a distinct gospel feel to it.
