Happy New Year, SDers.
I have a question that Ralph and Russ will surely be able to help with. I noticed years ago when Pentangle played on a TV show that the drum sound was surprisingly clean and...
It might have been the thirteenth attempt following technical problems. I've seen that in TV studios. Kiki was a pro and gave it to them again. You couldn't always get audiences that would repeat....
Thanks Marv.
I think there was another thread on Al's passing. In case anyone didn't see it, here is my tribute in CounterPunch:

Marc: Sorry the time has come, but I do feel you on that. Nine years is a good innings and you always kept it classy. Congratulations and move on with a good job done.
Cheers Marv.
Thanks Methusela.
Here's my brief obit in Counterpunch:

Just read this on Sharon Davis's site and am desolate to believe it is true. Al was a real friend, a true gentleman, and a Motown man to his boots. I hope this is some mistake.
Well adrift. Send for the lifeboat. No idea where that confusion came from, Ashford and Simpson and HDH, in fact. Maybe I should come home and get my soulful shit sorted...
I'm thinking Bob also did some work for Motown - Keep an Eye on Your Close Friend, Going Down for the Third Time? Could be adrift.
Sorry guys:
Somebody decided to go legal and cause the media company to cease trading, so I don't have access to monies or orders. But I'm here, and will honour them. Can you confirm delivery...
Sounds like they need you to go back and take care of business, gentlemen.
That's it JBP. I don't even know where I got my copy from. Maybe I bought it in France.
Tell me about it, Tim. I'm so sad about that, and so is Charles who worked with her on the book. If we had cut off before the Australian tour, it would all have been different, but it wouldn't have...
It's in the UK as well now:

It's been a long time coming, people, but it's available on Amazon.com as of today:

Am I the only one who hasn't seen this?

Ha ha. I thank you for it, Motown4Ever.
No additional instrumentation, but as noted above, not all are clean. Those that are are gems. I don't know how the CD publishers gained access to them.
The instrumental version of I Can't Help Myself by Earl features him playing piano rather than organ. The track on this album sounds like the instrumental track for the Four Tops, including strings,...
I play keyboards and electric bass, but not at the same time.
His very popular show about baking is very similar in presentation to all the other five million cookery shows on TV, but the background music is stripped down backing tracks, many from Motown and...
I'd not seen the Martha. What a beautiful start to the day. Many thanks for sharing. Isn't that Dennis Coffey on guitar?
I had a French album years ago that had You are the Sunshine of My Life by Junior with Stevie on it. It was a collection of 'Motown Instrumentals' with Machine Gun, two tracks from the San Remo...
