Ironic screen name indeed. You only had to hint Diana Ross might be less than perfect and you were forever branded an evil entity. I would never wish anyone ill, but it’s nice things have moved on...

Vinyl only i’m guessing.
Good points Ran. Flo could definitely have inflicted a lot of damage to the reputation of both Diana Ross and the Supremes had she taken it into her head.
I didn’t know all the background details leading up to this wonderful performance, but all three voices blend perfectly here displaying natural musical talent..
Considering the well documented events of Flo’s final performance, it’s not, impossible the billing was changed back at a slightly later date, perhaps owing to contractual reasons when the original...
Many thanks for taking the time the time to post all the info milven. I do remember reading a review of Flo’s last performance, but I guess it’s no longer available.
Like you, on the night of Flo’s...
The billing of the Supremes as with Diana Ross is when Cindy first joined the group and the company were still undecided about how to present Diana’s name.
I have never seen proof that there was...
Norman Bates is alive and well.
I agree. Perhaps they were still haunted by the days when it was all about Diana, moving just a little to far in the opposite direction.
For me the Love Child album remains perfect as is. I think “Bah Bah Bah” a dreadful idea, being as it works so perfectly on the Reflections album.
It’s always interesting to read what others think...
I really don’t see how the focal point of the problem can be aimed at Mary. The majority of the act was simply far too manic and needed to be toned down.
In my experience, unhappy people tends to...
No, it was definitely for that performance. Can anyone find it?.
The review of that particular performance was complimentary of all three women. If Flo really had been that inebriated, you would imagine they would have at least noticed something not quite right....
Cheers milven. It seems a lot of people were involved in helping to create a solid sound.
It’s an energetic little number with a memorable chorus. Are the male voices featured the Four Tops?.
She was clearly angry about something as she reportedly pushed her way back to the dressing room after the performance. Personally, i think she sensed it was all over prior to going on stage. It...
I always had a hunch you were none to keen.
I think “Beginning Of The End Of Love” would have made for the perfect followup single, with its soulful, haunting vibe matching that of “Reflections”.
I also like the uplifting John Henry”, and...
The difference being the Supremes look desperate to please. I love MS&S in the studio, but live Susaye can start to become annoying.
If only they could have calmed things down. It reminds me of a...
I’m a huge fan of “Beginning Of The End Of Love”, thinking it a far more commercial sounding song than either “Forever Came Today” or “Composer”.
It’s a total head scratcher why it was never...
That’s exactly what I think happened, although my gut feeling is that Flo was tired and hungover as opposed to drunk when first entering the dressing room. What happened after, who knows for sure.
There really was no special reason for Flo to do what she did that particular night. In the PJ book she says that she was worried not knowing if she was in or out of the group, and they had just...
A huge improvement i would guess. One thing I do love regarding the Reflections album is the progression in Diana’s voice, being generally far more rounded than those early hits.
By late 67 the music world was changing, being you were less likely to get away with surrounding a hit or two with filler as Reflections is testament to.
I agree. That outfit was placed there for a reason, eventually serving its purpose.
