I heard it for the first time in 1976 when a friend of mine let me his vynil "El Sonido de Filadelfia, Vol. 3" by spanish PIR - CBS [[including also Talk Of The Town's "If We Got The Will", MFSB's "Sexy",...); little after I purchase this same vynil and the 45 "What It Takes" w/b "Last Time Was The best Time" and also "City Of Brotherly Love" [[that I have previously on "El Sonido de Filadelfia, Vol. 2") w/b "Virgin Girl". Many years ago, finally!, I found the Soul Survivors untitled Lp on TSOP in a second - hand store... and more and more I heard it, all the album is very good, but my absolute favorite is the mellow "Virgin Girl". "What It Takes" is a nice pop-rock-soul mid-up tempo, nice harmonica at the intro and as always by the Ingui brothers, tons of soulful vocals.
I'm listening now a compilation double CD by Azymuth [["Pure Best Of Far Out Years 1995 - 2006") with the ultra funk number "Carambola".

In the second half of the 70's, in a major part of my singles I preferred all the "B" sides [[many of wich that NOT belongs to NO ONE album!!). I always played the B side of "Do It Anyway You Wanna", the bluesy "The Big Hurt" by People's Choice or "I Got The Love" [[B side of "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now by McFadden & Whitehead) or Four Tops "When Your Dreams Take Wings and Fly" [[B side of "Put It On The News") or "Dinorah Dinorah" [[B side of Benson's "Give Me The Night")...:)
