Thank you Westgrandboulevard for this thread. All the birthdays of all of these great people I would not have known. Thank you very much for your efforts!
Thank you Marv for your compliments, which are very much appreciated!
I certainly do not have the first-hand experience of Ralph, Lowell, and yourself, but your own contributions and, indeed, all the members here, make Soulful Detroit such an interesting place to be, and allows us our own 'stage' to share with each other.
In this thread, I'm looking to give priority to the Motown, R&B, soul and jazz stars who have shared their individual talents with a wider audience, and who deserve recognition at least once a year.
While finding the time to source the information for this is a challenge, it is also extremely interesting. :)

Happy Birthday : to everyone celebrating Birthdays on September 14th.:)
Westgrand,
When you were playing with HM's Corghis: HM told me to use Scott's [[London) as our seafood caterer & any restaurant where Gordon Ramsey doesn't have ownership nor open his mouth & have a fit. After all, HM would know!
..and Moe, while you were talking to HM, I slipped out, went down in the service lift, and visited the kitchens. [[the chefs were planning a 'who sings most like Adele' competition. I expect they all won.....).
I now have a top ten list of best places for chips in the entire Metropolis.
Just occasionally, HM likes to order in, to see what the competition is doing.
And sometimes, she even goes out, in disguise.....
YES!!! She told me that!!!! I thought that was hilarious!!! HM does have a devil streak!!
As for Adele, I can personally say that she sounds exactly like her CD's [[having seen her in person last week). It was so nice to see/hear her..........that woman was NOT lip-synching to ANY song!!

Westgrand, Sophia Loren looks amazing for her age!!
I think she might be around 81!!!
Sophia was 82 yesterday, Moe......and yes, still very elegant in every way, including her style of glasses!
Sophia will very likely still be around at 91, maybe even 101.....
Hope we are, too:o

A statement on behalf of my esteemed client : -
"I couldn't be more pleased that Arr&bee's talent as movie producer and director is finally receiving the level of recognition it fully deserves, and which has been far too long coming. In fact, 'Has Been' are the two words which immediately leap into my mind when I think of him. 'Good' just isn't the word to describe his work. I can put my hand on my heart and honestly say that each and every production in which I have appeared has been well down to his usual standard. My career has never recovered, but I've never been more famous.
You go Arr&bee, you go!
Ms. Moe [[Superstar)
THANK YOU MY FRIENDS FOR THAT HEARTLESS CONFESSIONAL,AND I WILL DO MY VERY BEST TO SEE THAT MY PRODUCTIONS REMAIN VALUELESS AND THOUGHTLESS AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW MS.MOE THAT AS LONG AS I'M IN THE MOVIE BUSINESS YOU HAVE A CAREER...[or something]WE'LL GO TO THE BOTTOM TOGETHER EVEN IF IT BANKRUPS WEST..[he can afford it]NOW ENOUGH ABOUT ME IT'S TIME TO GET TO WORK ON OUR LATEST POLARIOD CLASSIC!!!
And 'ACTION!'......
..." your call is important to us, and you are now number 98 in the queue..."......
And all the while, that wretched music. It wouldn't be so bad if they would take requests....
And don't even try returning to the main menu. 'Click'.......
PS. Birthday listings will resume tomorrow, when I'll be playing catch up.
[[It's a good job the world is not awaiting them LOL)
Meanwhile, your posts are important to us.....
SS: not only that song but "Feelings" by Slim Whitman & his orchestra!
And when was 'Doors Closing!' a hit......?
