I loved their version. It was the follow up to "Sukiyaki"

Hazel Payne's koto playing always knocked me the funk out. I always wondered if there was
ever any other non-Asian musician to feature that instrument in American popular music...
Sukiyaki knocked the ball outta the park...
There were several successful remakes of Motown Hits in the 80s.
I've never heard this song before but they really do a nice job on it, and I love the Orientalesque arrangement. Nice find! I'll have to listen to more of Taste of Honey; I always just kind of dismissed them as a One Hit Wonder.
Here is their big hit from 1980:

Enjoyed the "Rescue Me" video as well. Thanks for posting, Marv. How unusual was it that a member of a girls' group played an instrument? [[May be a good topic for a thread.) I remember their album cover with one girl holding a guitar but even seeing that it never occurred to me she would play it as she played the Koto in the "Try Something New" clip. A very talented [[and beautiful) lady, for sure.
Incidently I found their first album yesterday in a flea market :

Both girls are musicians, Hazel P. Payne plays guitar and Janice M. Johnson bass. Check this clip !
