This is old news, but I guess it is in the news again because it is mentioned in a recent book called Tom Jones: The Life.

An amazing couple. Years later, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II and she was appointed U.S. Cultural Ambassador by the U.S. State Dept. and General Colin Powell!
I didn't know that Tom Jones and Mary Wilson were ever an item. That is a very beautiful matchup right there.

What I wanna know is why bring it up at all? Mary admitted it years later. Great music from both but flawed personalities. Don't know how Tom's wife kept up with it. Maybe she simply tolerated it because she "knew how Tom was".
Did Tom divorce his wife ever?
The article about the books says they are still together I believe.
LOL, she knew Tom was a skank but she loved him. And she knew he was just using Mary as an outlet.
The whole thing is kind of unsavoury but it is what they need to do to sell a few books; I gather Tom is an artist of some stature in the UK . I can't quite see how this kind of talk would maintain that stature.
I wonder what Mary and her children think of this nonsense being published about someone who really isn't in the limelight anymore when she is a Grandmother and 71 years old. Perhaps what went around has come around. It seems to have happened with Motown 25 too.
Mary is so thrilled to get press that she's probably told Duke's, Flip's and a dozen other exes' wives to get their stories out as well.

When Tom Jones was recording for Joe Meek [[Lonely Joe, That's What We'll Do) he was pursued by Joe. Tom doesn't seem keen to talk about that part of his musical career but when he was pursued on the subject by a Meek fan, he recalled that he "rejected" Joe's advances. Joe passed in February 1967 so we can't ask him if his memory of the events is the same!
