Song question "Black Of Face"

I was just on the Flo Ballard Facebook page and someone over there asked who recorded this song. I would like to know myself as well. I remember the late Maxine Ballard mentioning that it was Florence's favorite song years ago in an interview and I never gave it much thought then. Now I'm pretty good with music but for the life of me I cannot place this song or who recorded it? Does anyone here know?

Either Milt Jenkins or Maxine wrote the song [[or possibly a collaboration) and Maxine recorded it.

Thanks! Maxine might have talked about this in her book, but I didn't get around to getting it. This would explain why I could not place the song. I did not know that Maxine had ever recorded:[[
