I was listening to the Dramatics yesterday on Sirius radio's Soultown in the car and made me want to dig up some of their classics and this is one of them. Thanks JAI

I love this group and i hope this statement is taken as the compliment it is intended to be,if the temptations were to look in music's window and see an image most like thier own it would be the dramatics.
arr&bee, the first time I heard "Whatcha See, " it was the Tempts on steroids! The vocals was so tight weaving in and out, man they were killing it! That was my introduction to the Dramatics. As one who loved the tempts, I took what you said as a compliment to the Emperors of Soul.
Being from Detroit, this was my intro to the Dramatics about 5 years before their monster smash "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get!" From 1966 Dramatics-"Inky Dinky Wang Dang Doo"

Well all right now! :)
After WSIWG I was hooked! And yes they did remind me of the Tempts -- great leads, tight harmonies, superb choreography, and yet, still had their own style and flair.
Anyone remember this little ditty from their "Drama V" LP released in 1975:

Prior to joining the Dramatics, L.J. Reynolds recorded this great little gem in 1971 with a group called Chocolate Syrup. The song was produced by Bobby Martin and recorded at Philly's Sigma Sound Studios.
