New York Times reporters have spent over a year covering Donald J. Trump’s rallies, witnessing so many provocations and heated confrontations at them that the cumulative effect can be numbing: A sharp sting that quickly dulls from repetition.
But what struck us was the frequency with which some Trump supporters use coarse, vitriolic, even violent language — in the epithets they shout and chant, the signs they carry, the T-shirts they wear — a pattern not seen in connection with any other recent political candidate, in any party.
Not everyone attending a Trump rally behaves this way. In fact, many are polite and well mannered. But while protesters are often shouted down, crowds seldom express disapproval of the crude slogans and angry outbursts by Mr. Trump’s supporters. Indeed, these displays have become inextricably bound with the Trump show itself — as much as the snaking entrance lines and the calls to “build a wall” along the border with Mexico.
With that in mind, we set out to record the shouts, slogans, imprecations and interactions among audience members that set Trump events apart from other political gatherings. We also obtained recordings from others in attendance, who sometimes were closer to the action.
The resulting compilation gives a sense of what we saw – from Maine to North Carolina, from Ohio to Arizona.
Even just from a couple of days ago, Trumps security was still throwing out non-white people they thought looked like they would cause trouble. What does that tell ya?
Trump can talk all he wants about how he condemns racism and whatever, but the racists still support him. Why? The klan came out months ago and told him to do whatever he needed to do, and that they were behind him.
The funny thing about Trump trying to appeal to Black people is that he didn't even write the speech! His new handlers did, and one's from Breitbart, one of the most disgustingly racist organizations in the country! You can tell the far-right wrote those words because it has the far-right 's trademark arguments. Most Blacks are smarter than that, though. They know that the republikkkans have done nothing but make every effort to block voting rights, jail innocent Black men and women for petty and trumped-up charges with long sentences, and engaged in constant insults, especially against President Obama and his family. Oh, don't forget the birthirism that Trump led for the last eight years, and insulting all Blacks by requesting Obama prove his education and citizenship is legitimate. Most intelligent Blacks know better than to vote for a man and his party when they have constantly derided the Black Lives Movement, and characterized its supporters as lawless "thugs", and now are trying to give us lip service just for our vote.
And, the truth is that everyone prospers more under Democrats than republicans. That is a fact. The republicans' austerity has done nothing for anyone but the wealthy.
