So TripAdvisor will not change at all........
No, it won't....
Will TripAdvisor help me get to where I want to go?
Not a chance. If anything, it would deter you.
All TripAdvisor seems to do is publicise the comments of bad-tempered people who take out their ire via the internet, instead of speaking about any grievances directly to the people concerned, and quietly sort it out between them.
I've never used the site. Does anyone ever write anything complimentary?
They do, of course; but, rightly or wrongly, the harsh ones shout at you.
A balanced review by someone who is of a similar nature, and is accomplished at composition, can be very useful.
The other sort, of the "Avoid this place!!!!"" mentality, has nothing positive to offer.
I think I'll stay at home then. I may fly south for the winter if my arms have recovered by then.
You could consider a huge parachute, to carry you wherever the wind blows....
If becalmed, I could easily generate my own power.
I'm unsure if you should go there - and I'm certain I won't....
...........and I won't either!!!!
Of course, some people are attracted by the idea of gently drifting around the world in 80 days, in a large wicket basket supported by an even larger balloon....
If you're David Niven and Cantinflas!!
That picture fascinated me as a kid in the cinema. I must have been only about 6 or 7 years old. It takes a gentle on-screen poke at the old-style British way of doing things....i.e. eccentric.....
And that's what made it so delightful!!!
Also, spotting all those familiar faces, playing cameo roles.
Bet it wouldn't happen now. It would cost too much..and their agents probably wouldn't be willing to settle for less than the usual rate.......
Oh yes!! Yesterday I turned on "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." They don't make them like that anymore!!
It doesn't seem that way, Moe.
I could find something new in "Hello, Dolly!" every time I see it.....
Exactly..........
Some of those classics are just in a category by themselves!!!
Which, of course, includes all of us, individually, and collectively.
Which makes this a great place to be....
Very true, westgrand. They don't make 'em like us anymore!!!
Anyone who agrees a little too readily with that statement of yours, is definitely suspect....
Are you the "Usual Suspect?"
Well, y'know Moe, it's certainly beginning to look that way, isn't it....
I'm beginning to wonder if you and Keyser Soze aren't one and the same!!
The greatest trick I ever pulled was convincing SDF that I exist!
Moe, It seems that the word 'soze' in Turkish means 'verbal', and I certainly seem to do a lot of that around here, although in written form....
144man, I suppose we only exist when communicating with these names right here...so we indeed live on the shady side....
"Always look on the bright side of life..."
I prefer sun on my face, to a cold wind....
Make the most of it while it lasts.
In bad weather, I tend to walk backwards.
Look to the light, westgrand!!!
It's written on my T shirt - "I've seen the Light!"
Did it do any good??
I think so...but disagree any time you like....LOL
Have you noticed that if you look at the Sun long enough, you can see a black disc in the middle? How comes none of the astronomers have discovered this?
Yes! I've noticed it, too.
And what about all those little black spots which also appear before the eyes, at the same time. It's hell trying to count them all, I can tell you...
I thought those black spots occurred when you get up from a chair too fast and you see spots!!
You're right, Moe...and it also happens in a kitchen, when you leave a door open, turn to do something else below it, and then raise yourself up to the original position.....
