Whoa. He's had a mysterious last several years, but probably he just wanted to live privately. Reportedly living in the UK, he appeared on Jools Holland's Later show some three years ago.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfOPZTqnovA
I hope this is not true.
I didn't see or read anything reported about his death. Hope it is just another false face book rumor.
I googled his name and nothing about him dying came up

They were writing about his passing on Soul-Source Forum. So, as he was residing in Britain, they may have a local, reliable source for that news. Sorry to hear this.
I went to google again. I see that jimmy Ruffin jr has passed but not his dad
Does any news wire have this story then we would know if its true or not

Now they're saying his son is the one who passed away, and Jimmy, himself is seriously ill, but still alive. No links to a reliable source.
Jimmy moved back to the USA a while ago. He currently lives in the Las Vegas, Nevada area.

Reports have surfaced that Motown singer Jimmy Ruffin is gravely ill in the intensive care unit of a Las Vegas hospital.
According to Soul Tracks, “We are sad to inform SoulTrackers that Motown great Jimmy Ruffin is gravely ill in a Las Vegas hospital. His family is asking for prayers.”
Additional reports on Twitter are saying that Ruffin has passed away; however, there is no confirmation from the family.
Ruffin, who is 75, hit big in 1966 with his first single for Motown, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted, which went to number 7. He continued to chart with such songs as I’ve Passed This Way Before, Gonna Give Her All the Love I’ve Got and Don’t You Miss Me a Little Baby. His career was resurrected in 1980 when he returned to the top ten with Hold On [[To My Love).
