As one person tweeted the other day, they could fix this if they wanted to. Look at how quickly they reacted to heroin once it made its way into the suburbs and affluent children started getting strung out. They still criminalize crack and meth users but are treating opioid abuse as a medical issue. If this was them getting killed [[news flash: a lot of poor White people suffer the same fate at the hands of cops, just not in the same numbers) then they would correct it in a heartbeat.
