Big health insurers to stop selling new child-only policies

Anthem Blue Cross [[Wellpoint), Aetna, Cigna, among others are doing this in reponse to the Health Care Reform Act which prohibits refusing the acceptance of children with pre-existing conditions for coverage. The loophole is that they drop insuring children under child-only policies. I guess that means that children can be covered under their parents' "family plans?" These days, health insurance providers consider a "hang-nail" to be a "pre-existing condition."
Just to give some context - from the link below:
"WellPoint, the nation's largest insurer by membership, earned $722.4 million in the three months ended June 30, compared with $693.5 million a year ago. Aetna earned $491 million in the quarter, up from $346.6 million a year ago."

These companies are not exactly hurting for money, but they literally have people's lives in their hands...what a disgrace.

Soulster, I don't know because the first thing they are going to do, according to their new blueprint for america is repeal the healthcare bill, cut taxes, no gays in military, ban abortions, cut social security, medicare, etc. And get this, the director of this new blue print lobbied for oil, insurance and pharmaceutical companies this year. People hate Obama so much that they will actually vote for the same policies that got us into this mess in the first place. Beam Me Up Scotty!!!
Exactly, what most Americans don't want to happen. But, it's up to the Democrats to promote and get out the message to VOTE! Unfortunately, Democrats are usually too mealy-moused, though. Unfortunately, the Pro-corporate Republicans don't care as long as they get their corporate contributions and personal "gifts"...and the "Tea-baggers" are too ignorant to realize that what they or their employers pay for their health care increases 10-20% per year....until a "Tea-bagger" gets ill and has to get a loan or second mortgage on their home or even file for bankruptcy to pay their medical bills - even though they have coverage....and some of those "Tea-baggers" don't exactly look like the picture of health either!!Quote:

Ultimately, what this "conservative" conglomerate wants is:
* Expand corporate control of America - which will benefit them financially at the expense of the middle and poorer classes
* Make Abortion against the law in all cases without exception
* Prevent Gay Marriage from being nationally legalized
* Do away with or privatize Social Security
* Do away with Medicare
* Do away with anything resembling "Affirmative Action"
* Ultimately control who comes into the country and become citizens and alter or repeal the 14th amendment that allows anyone who is born on US soil to be citizens
* Do away with separation of church and state
They hope to accomplish this by using fear on the ignorant [[Tea-baggers", etc.) to help them get Republicans elected, and will then discard them when they are no longer useful. The ultimate goal of this "white" and "conservative" movement is to make America once again mainly "White & "Conservative."
