I don't think we should take these discussions all too seriously.
I recall Ralph once said that "it goes with the territory" in reference to criticism that is leveled at celebrities/stars like Diana Ross. I'm sure she took it all "to the bank" with another smile.
Sorry to burst your bubble here but the organisers originally asked for Diana to headline the show, and whilst she initially showed some interest she decided she did not want to travel to the UK. They asked her to rethink the situation. By this time all the audience tickets had been sold. When Diana turned them down for a 2nd time they asked Chaka Khan and Celine Dion. Both had prior engagements. Shirley Bassey was also approached but was not interested. Mary Wilson was on a reserve list alongside Lulu . Mary accepted the gig along with the previously booked Martha Reeves and the rest as they say is history. I was not going to mention this publicly but your constant jibes about Diana have finally made me snap. You brought it on yourself. hehehehehehe he!Quote:
