Looks like it could be a good one! Although most of the HDH/Invictus/Hot Wax etc material has been well mined by Demon in the past few years. To me it'll be interesting if the tracks used are the actual 45 mixes [[as the title suggests) with b sides. Whatever it turns out to be, thanks to Ian Dewhirst for working on yet another valuable project.

It will be interesting to see whether the Jones Girls' "Taster of the Honey" gets a b-side.

I doubt we'll see Lamont's "Fish Ain't Bitin'" because it was on ABC and this is an Invictus/Hot Wax/Music Merchant compilation, but "Don't Leave Me Starvin' For Your Love" will be there.....along with lots of other goodies hopefully.

That's a WALLOP of discs. You take for granted how many recordings HDH's label[[s) had sometimes. Amazing.
Oh man... paper sleeves. Come on! The Emperors Of Soul set had proper places for the CD's to prevent from any potential scratches.... :/

If there is one thing I have learned is never to cancel an Amazon pre-order. If the release fails to materialise then they [[Amazon) will do that. I've kept mine on pre-order since it first appeared as an 8-CD set just before Christmas for around £96.00. Now my pre-order price is down to just on £45.00 and I now find out that this will not be for the originally advertised 8-CD box but a whopping 14 CD's!
A win-win situation!

Although the listing is by reference to American 45 releases, the compilers only have access to the UK vaults. However, many UK 45 mixes were noticeably different to their US counterparts so now I'm now totally confused as to what is on it.
Another thought because it's been a while since I played the 45s..........were the single releases in the earlier years all stereo or were some still mono? I suspect they were stereo, but if there were mono mixes will any be used on this set? [[If the masters used are from the UK I suspect that EMI would have preferred putting out stereo if possible.)

The early Invictus & Hot Wax singles were released in mono only through 1972 at least [[some of the Invictus singles even had 'mixed for sharper reproduction on the air' printed on the labels).Quote:
