Ill make sure and pass on the info to him. FYI, as if you dont know, 123 is being used for that milk commercial and American Express just picked up as well. Needless to say, Len is a very happy camper these days, and deservedly so!! |

What's up Bobby??? Now that you mention Len, I remember the name of the Len Boone song that we were talking about. It was Love That Won't Be Denied from 1979. Now as for Mr Barry, I was 5 when 1,2,3 can out & I still love that song. It sounded very Motownish to my ears. I also liked 1,2,3 Part 2, which was named Like A Baby. Now, I don't know what he was thinking about with Lip Sync. Ah, something's are better left unsaid! Hey jrlo, are you looking for the RECORD or the SONG??? Let me know which. |

Hell jrlo, if it wasn't for the LP cover, I'd send you my copy. There were a couple of songs that were fine...... I think that the single is the way to go. You can probably get it on an reissue 45 unless you're a stickler for originals. |

I was hanging around the office when it was conceived. |

My favourite, apart from the 1-2-3 album (all fine tracks)is his records as the Electric Indian "Keem-o-sabe". Weird but great. Does Len Barry still perform? |

Hello Everyone. I've never actually owned a copy of "1,2,3" but I do have "Like a Baby" on a U.K. Brunswick 7" which I play for pleasure on occasions .. goes nicely with things like "Gotta Have Your Love" by THE SAPPHIRES. Didn't LEN BARRY produce "Space Bass" by SLICK .. a groovy dance tune that was a big U.K. hit around 1978 .. and If my memory serves me well he was also involved in producing acts like FAT LARRY'S BAND and PHILLY CREAM around the late 70's/early 80's. Perhaps Bobby Eli can fill us all in on this stage of LEN BARRY's career? Roger |

Some of our big ones were : Zoom-Fat Larrys Band Lovetown-Booker Newbery III Summer Snow-Blue Magic The Impact LP Blue Magic's Mystic Dragon LP Keith Barrow's LP And many more. |

wow! I expect you can guess, or maybe you already know that some of Len Barry's work was popular on the Northern Soul scene. My fave was "It's a crying shame", but "I struck it rich" was huge favourite too. Great vocals, great production |

This is one of the reasons why I love this site. Being from Philly, all that got played to my recollection was 1-2-3 and Like a Baby. E, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm learning so much from this site about my home boy. Eli: I didn't know you wrote Zoom! Great record for Fat Larry (RIP)! |

Hi Soul Sister! I didn't know Fat Larry but my neighbor, Frosty, did! (She knew Lottie, Dottie and every darn body!) Eli, how did it turn out with his hair texture and all! I didn't know white folks could get a process! I remember if a guy came to my house with a process, my father would have had a fit! LOL! Sly's was the place to be back in the day! All the stars had their hair "did" at Sly's and their clothes from Krass Brothers. |

Nosey, I dont know what "process" they used but he sho' nuff went to Sly's. He also had a gold lame~ vine!!! BTW, the first time that I heard the word "vine" regarding a suit, it was from the Dreamlovers when I had bought a Glen plaid checked suit and Cliff Dunn said to a barely 15 year old me, "hey son, thats some nice vine you got there'!! I thought that it was the type of suit that I bought, rather than just a suit in general!! So from that day on, little Eli became a "hep cat" |
