I'm pleased to announce that my very good friend and business partner has been invited to perform at the prestigious Monterey Blues Festival this coming weekend. He signed the contracts today. Teddie will be appearing with Al Green, Lou Rawls, and The Average White Band to name a few. Teddie my man, go out there and destroy them. I know you will.

Teddy DID rock the joint in LA.
Congrats to your buddy Ralph.
What day and time does he go on?

I'm not sure Larry. I'll find out when I talk to him. I told Teddie to come on the forum. I know he's rehearsing right now but maybe later.

Brother Lou, Reverend Al and those merry ol' Scots the AWB better watch out for our man Teddie Morrow! Good luck & knock 'em dead!

Great news Ralph
I keep meaning to tell you that I found a Teddie Morrow track on a cd.

And if you get a chance to speak to Hamish or any of the other Scots, mention Dream Police.
That will bring a smile to their faces.
They used to play in Glasgow under that name in the sixties.

Sweet! Sounds like a nice gig. You will get to blow 'em away again, like you did at the recent Funk Brothers show in L.A. Congratulations to Teddie and Ralph.

Ralph
I am not well up on Mr Morrows work unfortunatly
but have heard a track by a Teddy Morrow
on the Seibu Record Label
called
"whats your sign/peace love and togetherness"
would this be the same person?
many thanks
mel.

David and Mel,
I'd be interested to know the titles of those particular tracks. Some years back Teddie had an album out but I don't know too much about it. Hopefuly Teddie will post here soon. Maybe he can shed some light.

Hi Ralph
"What's your sign" Ashco Music, written by the man himself.
It is a ballad with a falsetto vocal. Very nice it is too.

David and Mel,
Those tracks are none other than Teddie. He will be posting soon.

Cheers Ralph
looking forward to it.

He had to run to rehearsal Mel. His show is tonight. I'm sure he will post when the dust settles.

You Go Teddie!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Teddie tore it up last night. ( did you have any doubts? ) They were trying something new this year at the Blues Festival. Teddie appeared in the Club House near the main arena. It's a cool place. Intimate and perfectly suited for Teddie's performance. Next year Teddie will be appearing in the main arena. Congratulations my friend. You made us proud.

bump for teddie

Glad to read this review, Ralph. Excellent! What's next for Teddie?
-Christopher

Chris,
I had bmped the thread up to the top because Teddie wanted to post something and was looking for the thread. Then he developed some sort of computer problem. So much for the bump. I suppose what's next for Teddie is to get back into the studio. He's been in a writing frenzy lately. He called me last night all excited about something he had just written and is ready to take it into the studio. Now if all goes the way things normally go with Teddie, by the time we actually get to the studio he'll be four or five songs ahead of this present one and it more than likely will never get to tape. We're notorious for this type of behavior. I did a count once on things we had started only to abandon for something we happened to get a case of the hots on. There are 67 songs sitting in the studio in various forms of completion. We always say that one day we will get back to them but it never happens.

Ralph/Teddie - how did the show go? Any photos?

Carl,
The show went very well. Unfortunately I have no pictures. Teddie appeared at what is known as the Clubhouse. A great room. He did so well that next year he is invited to appear in the main arena.

IDEA RALPH...ALTHOUGH I DON'T KNOW IF TEDDIE WOULD CARE TO ATTEMPT THIS ONE FROM A STYLISTIC PERSPECTIVE...BUT...37 YEARS AGO (FROM NEXT YEARS FESTIVAL)...OTIS REDDING PULLED OFF WHAT HAS BEEN CALLED PERHAPS THE "GREATEST" PERFORMANCE IN THE HISTORY OF THE MONTEREY FESTIVAL!!!...IT WOULD BE GREAT FOR TEDDIE...OR SOMEONE...TO DO A TRIBUTE PERFORMANCE COMMEMORATING OTIS'S LEGENDARY PERFORMANCE AT THAT VENUE!!!...IS THIS AT ALL A POSSIBILITY...IN THAT I BELIEVE THAT SUCH A TRIBUTE WOULD BRING A LOT OF INTEREST TO SUCH A PERFORMANCE...TEDDIE DOES "TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS"...ETC???...RALPH...YOU'VE GOT TEDDIES EAR!!!...STUBASS

Stu,
I think that's a good idea. Maybe we can put something like that together depending on how things unfold for us this coming year. As of now I'm focused on getting some sort of deal for Teddie and as you are well aware..it ain't easy!

Ralph, you keep pushing, 'cause we're wishin' and hopin'.

Thanks Carl. I'm wheezin' and gaspin'.
