Stubass had created an 'open' thread posing the question of who was "the greatest 'soul' singer of them all"?

Well my question on this thread opens with, and, with any of your personal selections you might want to add herein--

What was your *favorite* soul records(s) selections you *loved* or remembered the most, from the 'random' year selected here... say, 1965?

For openers-- here's several of my own personal all-time '65 R&B faves:

* "The In Crowd" ... Dobie Grey
* "Make Me Your Baby" ... Barbara Lewis
* "Agent 00 Soul" ... Edwin Starr
* "A Lover's Concerto" ... The 'Toys'

And of course... I used to always love playing the heck out of this one, in 1965... back when!

Hey (my little) Soul Sister,
KevGo was absolutely right on the money with the 'Tempts' & 'Tops' for 1965....

But actually, "Love Makes The World Go 'Round" by Deon Jackson, and, the 'Capitols' all-time "million-seller" "Cool Jerk" were both... really, well into the "good year" of 1966.

Hey-- anyway besides, remember that I love reading ALL your posts... so keep it right here!

Jim;
When I met Deon late in '65 he was singing it then at live performances, and at a large stage show at Newark's Branford Theater, he & The Capitols did there thing early in '66. Peace my brother.

Hey, I *love* that 'classic' R&B hit by Lenny O'Henry... that one was from 40 years ago, and that was (going way back) in 1963!
