She really did. She looked so young. And I just loved that hair style.

I turned to it just in time to see the last act.

Gladys looked great and her comments to the young performers were on target.

Gladys is the consumate professional and a true musical icon and an inspiration for the masses.
I have been fortunate to have met her early on when Gladys and the Pips, Len Barry and The ORIGINAL Tempts were in Cleveland doing the Don webster Upbeat show.

These shows are popping up all the time over in the UK.

Last night they showed "Reborn In The USA" - a show about celebrities who were popular in the past but who are now in need of a second chance. They perform each week and one person gets booted off. Last night Gina G "Ooo Ah, Just A Little Bit" got voted out when the celebrities performed in Detroit at the Little Gem Theatre. As you would expect, all the songs were Motown songs....not all Hitsville USA songs I might add. Elkie Brooks did a version of "You Keep Me Hangin On" and although she did really well, she is one of two who is up for being voted off next week. The other is Tony Hadley formerly of Spandau Ballet who did "For Once In My Life". Haydon won with his version of Michael Jackson's "One Day In Your Life" - a huge number one hit here in the UK. Soulful Detroit man Ritchie Hardin's former colleague Sonia did a fine version of "You Can't Hurry Love" and she continues to be part of the team the next town when they perform in the next city which will be in Memphis.

Performers still in with a chance are Peter from Go West, Lee John from Imagination, Michelle Gayle, Sonia, Elkie Brooks, Tony Hadley, Haydon.....my apologies if I have missed anyone out
