Dear Soulful Detroit Forum,
I am in the early planning stages
of my trips East to do research and misc. for the book..I know some of you have made similar trips for your own books and projects. I have my agenda but want to make the most of this time...
Are there Detroit/Philly guide books I should use that helps with locations that are relevant to Ms. Tammi Terrell, please keep in mind it is very important for me to go where she was even if the place is no longer open...I will be doing all sorts of things on these trips..killing more than one bird with one stone...Any advice and feedback is much appreciated.. During this time I will be doing some of the archive stuff, newspapers, ect..
I am a planner, this trip will be in June or July.
Let me know what you all think could be useful for me...I trust your knowledge and welcome your ideas..

Vickie,
I will be glad to take you anywhere you would like to go relative to the Tammi Project.
Just let me know where and when.

Hi Vickie
Before my first visit to Detroit, I had great difficulty finding a map never mind a guide book.

When I finally got to the city (only visiting for the day), I couldn't find a shop downtown that would sell books!

So, it was pretty disorientating at first. My suggestion is that you hook up with someone before arriving.

Obviously buy a map and chart out your address list. If it's not too large you could take a taxi.

If it is large and diverse join up with us on May 21-26. Having now driven 1,500 miles within the city limits, we know our way around .

You might also find someone at our party who knew Tammi.

Anyway, have a great time, there is no place on earth I'd rather be!

Hey there Carl, thanks..how are you my friend?
Yeah, I saw that a while back... I was glad it was one of the more positive tributes to Tammi online....they kept the focus on Tammi and her music, I love that - and I know Ludie loves that too...
