"Good luck" Chaka on the Grammy. You got it going on. Thank you for your excellent performance with the Funk Brothers. I'm sure all will agree, as well as Marvin, you handled that "What's Goin On."

In the BEST TRADITIONAL R&B VOCAL PERFORMANCE category, a series of iconic crooners enjoy nominations. Chaka Khan and the Funk Brothers combined for the stunning "What's Going On," while Ann Nesby and Al Green's "Put It On Paper" also enjoys a nod in this category. Showing the reach of this section, icons the Temptations enjoy another nomination for "Lady," while smooth as silk Luther Vandross singer gets a nod for "Any Day Now." Remy Shand is the only newcomer in this Traditional category, for "Rocksteady."
