Here's an event Detroiters might be interested in ...

“Queens of the Blues,” a celebration of the women of Detroit blues will take place on February 23 at Fifth Avenue (6pm-midnight), 215 W. 5th Avenue in Royal Oak, Mich.

Donations at the door go to the Koko Taylor
Celebrity Aid Foundation.  The Detroit Blues Society volunteers will be there with their merchandise table. 

Scheduled to appear are Sharrie Williams & the Wise Guys Band,Thornetta Davis, Bret Lucas & Friends, Shirley Franklin & Delta Drive and special guests Kate Hart, Niecie and others.
