I found out today from Betty Slater (which is another story in herself) that "Proof", a rapper with Eminem's group is McKinley Jackson's (of McKinley Jackson and The Politicians) son.

P.S. A trip, huh?

Interesting. Isn't Barrett Strong's son a rapper too?

Is Betty Slater the mother of Zacharey Slater. He is a fantastic drummer. If it's the same Betty, I remember back in the day David Ruffin lived (for a very brief period) of time at her house. I was with a band with Zack and we were working hard with Charles Stokes trying to get something going. I wound up leaving the band, but Zack, Michael, Curtis stayed together.

I think Walter "Mr Soul" Jackson and Danny Woods both stayed with Betty. Betty brought Danny to Detroit.
Kris - please give her my regards when you speak to her next.

SPYDER TURNER NEWS FLASH.........
Spyder can't get a passport (all his current documents are in the name of Spyder Turner but he wasn't born a Spyder but a Dwight) so he is having to be replaced on the Prestatyn W/Ender bill by Lou Pride (out of Chicago / Texas).

Beebopman,
Got a question if you don't mind. Zack Slater of the Politcians aka Zachery Frazier, briefly drummer with Funkadelic in '69. There was a keyboard player in the group (Funkadelic) at the time named Mickey Atkins. Know anything about him?
Slater teamed up with Eddie Hazel & Billy Bass on the sessions for The Temptations tremendous "Song for You" Album.
Peace

As far as I know is that Mickey Atkins recorded with The Artistics. Don't know what he did after he left Funkadelic.

Rich: There was a keyboardist with the Funkadelic
named Mickey. But I don't remember his last name. He was very, very talented, but extremely quiet. Seemed almost to not fit as part of that group. back to Betty for a moment....: She has such a good heart. She loved the business and did what she could to help many of us starving musicians. She never asked for a dime. Gave us somewhere to sleep, something to eat and basically kept many of us from being homeless while we focused on our music and trying to get a break.
