Juicefree asked me a while back about a rare track from Johnny Bristol & Jackie Beavers - Someday, We'll Be Together. I now have it..so thought I'd share it. It is the original of the song done by Diana Ross & The Supremes(Johnny also sang on this version..prompting Diana Ross). I played it recently on my Radio Show.. four days later Johnny passed away...The show can be listened to from my webpage...Show 135A as an .rm file. www.soulcellar.co.uk Playlists (Message edited by Soul-Brother on April 10, 2004) |

Hey Soul Brother! I'm glad to see that you have this. Believe it or not, I've never heard this version ever. I find that to be amazing, in all of these years, I've never heard this played on the radio. Thanks a lot Soul Brother! Peace Juice |

Don't be surprised if it appears on a future volume in the Soul Satisfaction series. Our friend Jo Wallace is determined to get this classic out on CD |

I would say that would be long overdue. When a remake is as great as The Supremes version was, I can't understand how someone failed to play up the original & try to get it more exposure. Was the song that bad? Juice |

As we all know Johnny Bristol or otherwise known as Johnny Bradford way back in the 1960's whilst writing and producing for Motown artists etc was another true master of his art and correct me if I am wrong but I believe there is a cd or 2 soon to be released by the great man covering a fine selection of cuts that are a treat for all. As I heard some while ago the selections will be titled 'strangers' and cant recall title to the other, but apparantly are all Modern and Crossover sounds that will certainly please everyone. Apologies if the cd/s are out at this moment which probably are but I am not a collector of them at large. Mel |
