douglasm here.....

Don't know if you all remember when I asked you for the best non Chuck Berry Chuck Berry song. I got a great deal of help from your posts. This is the end result....

I won't blame you for the writing. Thanks for the ideas, though.

Doug; wasn't Mike "Monk" Bruce the guitarist on the Smokin Op's cut? He passed away a couple years ago.

You're right, of course, it WAS Mike Bruce on lead. I have an excuse [[that dates back to my stroke last August), but it's too long to get into here. Thanks for catching that. I'll correct it now.

Is this the same Mike Bruce that was in the original Alice Cooper Band?

It's been a million years since the STV band. I assume this is Bruce in this 1971 clip, right?

It was a serious enough error I felt a major correction was necessary. Thanks again.

Yup, that's the same guy in the clip. He's not the same as the Alice Cooper guitarist. I'm pretty sure this guy was also from Oklahoma [[ as were Teegarden and van winkle).

Playing in Detroit about the same time as Teegarden and Van Winkle was an organ, guitar, drum trio, also from the southwest. I saw them a couple of times at the Something Different [[one of Punch's teen clubs). I can't remember the name of the group, but I wonder if he was with them?
